Shimano proudly presents a modern lineup of bass rods with one of the highest cost performance. This total revamp of the EXPRIDE rod family was conceptualized based on an impregnable iron fortress to cater to modern techniques and trends among the anglers of today. An edge type carbon monocoque grip is used to improve the cosmetics without sacrificing the comfort it offers anglers. The basis of the designs have been kept to fulfil conventional means with a twist to cater to modern techniques such as big baits, mid-strolling, power finesse, etc. This new lineup of EXPRIDE rods is confident that there will be a rod that suits any bass angler, regardless of traditional or modern needs.

CARBON MONOCOQUE

Carbon Monocoque grip is a carbon-molded grip that is lightweight with high sensitivity, transferring even the smallest vibration to an angler’s hand. The Carbon Monocoque Grip increases sensitivity by 30% compared to traditional rod handles and utilizes a hollow structure that eliminates unnecessary parts of the rear grip to improve weight reduction and vibration transmission.

HI-POWER X

Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.

HI-POWER X SOLID

The flexible solid tip is reinforced with ultra fine carbon tape. This reinforcement suppresses power loss due to twisting without hindering the delicate bending of the solid tip. Cast accuracy, operability, and sensitivity has been dramatically enhanced by the application of HI-POWER X Solid.

EXCITETOP

EXCITE TOP is a special designed tip that enhances shake performance and sensitivity. The EXCITE TOP is a tapered tip section, which is in the top a bit heavier. The tip is hard and the intermediate part is slightly soft. By making a gap in the hardness, the swing width of the tip expands, enabling shaking with an automatic feeling. The sensitivity seen by the eyes, and the sensitivity transmitted to the hands is greatly improved.

TAFTEC INFINITY

TAFTEC INFINITY realizes 3 times the winding strength and 5 times the winding amount of our conventional solid tips. It is a high intensity solid tip that surpasses the strength and sensitivity of Taftec α.

CI4+

CI4 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with CI4+ are further reduced in size and weight.
