Source Player Core pg. 416Basic actions represent common tasks like moving around, attacking, and helping others. As such, every creature can use basic actions except in some extreme circ*mstances, and many of those actions are used very frequently. Most notably, you'll use Interact, Step, Stride, and Strike a great deal. Many feats and other actions call upon you to use one of these basic actions or modify them to produce different effects. For example, a more complex action might let you Stride twice, and a large number of activities include a Strike. An action or activity might also modify a basic action, such as having you Stride up to half your Speed. Aid [reaction] Source Player Core pg. 416Trigger An ally is about to use an action that requires a skill check or attack roll.Requirements The ally is willing to accept your aid, and you have prepared to help (see below). You try to help your ally with a task. To use this reaction, you must first prepare to help, usually by using an action during your turn. You must explain to the GM exactly how you're trying to help, and they determine whether you can Aid your ally. When you use your Aid reaction, attempt a skill check or attack roll of a type decided by the GM. The typical DC is 15, but the GM might adjust this DC for particularly hard or easy tasks. The GM can add any relevant traits to your preparatory action or to your Aid reaction depending on the situation, or even allow you to Aid checks other than skill chec...

You can use this weapon to Grapple with the Athletics skill even if you don’t have a free hand. This uses the weapon’s reach (if different from your own) and adds the weapon’s item bonus to attack rolls as an item bonus to the Athletics check. If you critically fail a check to Grapple using the weapon, you can drop the weapon to take the effects of a failure instead of a critical failure.

Introduction The Wrestler archetype is exactly what it sounds like, expanding your options with the grab and grapple mechanics in Pathfinder 2e. While anyone with Athletics and a decent strength score can grapple, Wrestlers gain several options to do more to a grabbed target. If you’re looking to support your team by focusing on martial crowd control, the Wrestler has you covered. If you want to put some guy in a headlock and then lift them over your head in a suplex or piledriver, Wrestlers can do that too. But can’t I just grapple without being a Wrestler? Well yes, [...]

You can throw a grappling hook with a rope tied to it to make a climb easier. To anchor a grappling hook, make a ranged attack roll using your simple weapon proficiency against a DC depending on the target, typically at least DC 20. This attack has the secret trait. On a success, your hook has a firm hold, but on a critical failure, the hook seems like it will hold but actually falls when you're partway up.

Two weeks ago in “Fight Like a Fox, Part 1” I detailed the different varying combat maneuvers in Pathfinder 2e. Today I want to discuss more detailed strategy, including feats and abilities that really make them pop!
