This Strawberry Banana Smoothie is a creamy and delicious smoothie for breakfast, as a snack or any time you need a healthy refreshment! It’s easy to make and super kid-friendly, too.
I’ll be honest: I am not the biggest fan of green smoothies. I like to eat greens in salads, but please let me keep my smoothies pink ?
This Strawberry Banana Smoothies is definitely very pink, and it’s a favorite with my kids. It’s creamy, sweet and delicious – and packs some protein thanks to the Greek yogurt in there!
Ingredients you’ll need

Ingredient notes
- Strawberries: If you have fresh strawberries instead of frozen, add about ½ cup of ice to the smoothie.
- Honey: This makes a mild and sweet smoothie, perfect for kids. If you don’t like yours too sweet, leave out the honey.
- Milk: Use your favorite milk here, dairy or non-dairy both works. This smoothie also tastes delicious with fruit juice as the liquid. Milk makes it creamy and milkshake-y and juice makes it more fruity. We like 2% milk best, but also enjoy it with orange juice.
- Greek yogurt: I always use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt here. Feel free to use vanilla Greek yogurt in place of the plain.
- Vanilla: Pretty much every vanilla extract is made with alcohol. If you don’t feel comfortable putting this in your smoothie (it’s a small amount so I don’t mind, but it’s totally a personal choice), just leave it out. You could always use vanilla Greek yogurt in place of plain for the flavor!
How to make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Well, how do you make a smoothie? Throw everything into your blender and blend away until smooth!
Serve the smoothie immediately for the best taste and texture! I don’t always garnish it, but it makes it look fun when you add a few banana slices, fresh strawberries and a sprinkling of chia seeds.
Recipe tips
- I very much recommend placing the milk and yogurt into the blender first. It seems to help to blend the frozen fruit more easily.
- If you don’t have a high powder blender, I recommend blending everything except for the strawberries first. Then add them little by little, blending between each addition.
- I don’t add any extra ice to the smoothie because the frozen strawberries already make it cold, thick and creamy. If you want yours even creamier and thicker, feel free to blend in some ice.
- The smoothie is on the thick side when it’s cold, feel free to thin it out with a little bit of milk you prefer a thinner consistency.

Wow! Best strawberry milkshake ever!!! I’ve substitued the Greek style yogurt and milk for almond milk Greek style yogurt and soy milk. Delicious! You can’t tell the difference. I’m lactose intolerant by the way…Reply
