Eric Jansen
General practitioner

My name is Eric Jansen. Like my colleague Ayso, I come from a family of general practitioners and I studied in Groningen. After working in the emergency room and in surgery for several years, I started my GP training in Utrecht. I completed this in 2007. Since then I have enjoyed working in several places in and around Utrecht. In my first years as a general practitioner, I also completed the Classical Singing course at the University of the Arts in Utrecht, which I successfully completed in 2013. Since then I have been trying to combine my different interests. I also have to care for home and family, with a full-time working wife (psychiatrist at the Amsterdam UMC) and three children. In my spare time I often do odd jobs, run or cycle.I look forward to welcoming you and my enthusiastic colleagues to our beautiful spot in the old center of Utrecht!
Ayso de Vries
General practitioner

My name is Ayso de Vries (1976) and I grew up in Nijmegen in a family practice family. I studied medicine in Groningen and not long after started a PhD program at the radiology department at the AMC. This resulted in a dissertation (2009), after which I trained as a radiologist for several years. This training did not suit me, and after some wandering around, I started GP training in 2014. I trained as a general practitioner in Utrecht. I did the last year of my training at the Mariahoek health center on the Singel (Utrecht center). I have been a general practitioner since the spring of 2017.For several years I worked with great pleasure as one of the permanent general practitioners in the Mariahoek, where I further refined my vision about general practice. In the spring of 2021, I founded DomstadDokters together with two enthusiastic colleagues, where I try to further shape this vision. I also work one day a week in a forensic psychiatric institution as a general practitioner. The diversity of the work within general medicine, the contact with you (or rather "you") and the customization are the most appealing aspects of the profession for me. I also perform ultrasound examination of the abdomen, something I brought with me from the hospital.I have a girlfriend and two young children. I like reading, good food, rowing, racing bikes and running. I also like to travel by bicycle or motorcycle.I look forward to seeing you. Welcome to DomstadDokters.
Fenna Schouten
General practitioner

My name is Fenna Schouten, I am one of the enthusiastic general practitioners of DomstadDokters. In 2010 I completed the Utrecht medical training course (SUMMA), which trains you to become a doctor and clinical researcher. I then completed my training as a tropical doctor and enjoyed working for several years in CuraƧao and then in a very remote hospital in South Africa. I have enjoyed practicing medicine in its full breadth, the adventure and the added value that you can provide as a doctor. Thanks to this time in the tropics, I have gained extensive surgical experience. I also enjoyed living and working in a different culture, where you can be surprised by different views.I have always been interested in the general practitioner profession, which in my opinion fits in beautifully with tropical medicine. Once back in the Netherlands with husband and children, it was a logical next step to become a general practitioner. In the near future I hope to obtain certification for traveler advice, where I can use my tropical experience for traveler care in the Netherlands.Everyone is unique and has their own problems and questions. I am curious about your story as a patient. I can often give clear medical advice. Sometimes there will also be situations in which we have to work together to find which solutions are possible and suit you. I strive to make everyone feel welcome and heard.I look forward to seeing you.
